 > I would suggest a transponder quality alert feature. The race manager shows the signal strength and number of hits each time a transponder appears. These can be weak depending on how the transponder is mounted.
 > Would it be possible to announce or sound when the signal strength or number of hits is less than a predetermined value set by the user? In my experience transponders with less than 15 hits or signal strength less than 40 are potentially problematic for amb. Drivers can change their transpoder config if they know it during practice. Announcement or sound is fine even if it is only during practice
 > Also according to the amb decoder manual the decoder periodically sends the noise level to the pc. Admins benefit from alerts when noise is loud In my experience noise levels above 40 have a cause. Both features should be off by default. because it requires specialized knowledge

AMB settings allow to define the "min,. hit" to ignore detections under this value. I think it's used to prevent ghost detections. I can add new settings to ask for the new values (hits/signal) to fire the alternate sound when the transponder is detected. I decode the battery level as well ... I could include it on the warning settings. The noise level is only available if the network link is used, I don't know how to detect it on serial port protocol version. With a serial port dump I could check the received frames, I think it will be easy to detect and implement.
